Following previous editions which engaged over 15,000 participants in Switzerland, Japan, China, Costa Rica, Australia, Belgium and Ghana, WRF’23 will take place in a hybrid format in Geneva and online on September 4-6 2023.
This edition puts global resource use at the core of a broader economic and societal paradigm shift, calling for a collaborative and effective strategy to respond to the triple planetary crisis and pave the way for a future delivering wellbeing for all within planetary boundaries.
Three major transitions with a high potential for transforming systems towards sustainability.
From a consumer to a sufficient society
From extractive to regenerative value chains
From growth to purpose

Ensuring sustainability in the management and use of natural resources is a global challenge calling for collaborative solutions. Our flagship international conferences serve as a platform to establish a prolific and open dialogue among policy-makers, businesses, scientists and civil society leaders. By breaking down silos, we work to provide a platform to confront experiences, share challenges and build a common understanding towards urgent, collaborative action.
Since 2009, we have organised conferences in Japan, Switzerland, China, Peru, Australia, Costa Rica, Finland, Belgium and Ghana.
