ABOUT

Prof. Gilles Carbonnier is full professor of development economics at Geneva’s Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies since 2007. He also serves as the Vice-President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (appointed in 2018). Until 2018, he was the Director of Studies of the Graduate Institute and President of the Centre for Education and Research in Humanitarian Action. His expertise focuses on international trade and cooperation, natural resources and development, as well as illicit financial flows. His latest book is entitled Humanitarian Economics. War, Disaster and the Global Aid Market (Oxford University Press & Hurst, 2016).
