Dr. Vlad C. Coroamă is a lecturer of smart energy and digitalisation and sustainability with the TU Berlin, Germany. He previously held research and teaching positions in Brazil, Switzerland, Portugal, and Sweden. Motivated by the urgency of the climate crisis, his research revolves around the relation between digitalisation and the environment. He contributed both methodologically and with concrete assessments to understanding the environmental impact of ICT, in particular the Internet. Today, his main research interest lies in exploring the mechanisms through which digitalisation can save resources, energy and emissions, and how to best exploit this potential, while understanding and avoiding the counteracting rebound effects.
